Before beauty was an industry it was a practice. The old women of the Nordic countryside knew which spring shoots softened the skin, which resins healed a wound faster than any modern balm, which oils to whisk into cream during full-moon nights when the plants held the most water. That knowledge did not disappear. It went quiet.
Moder Jord is the slow return. Not a wellness brand. A working apothecary for the skin and body, drawing on centuries of Sámi, Karelian, and Norse folk-medicine practice. Calendula for the tender skin. Comfrey for the tissue that needs to remember how to rebuild. Yarrow, spruce, birch, cloudberry, lingonberry, spruce resin, sea buckthorn, meadowsweet — the plants that grew where our grandmothers grew, in the soil that made them.
Every preparation is made by hand in small batches by Robin at the Berlin lab, from herbs foraged in Sweden across the growing season. Nothing synthetic. Nothing tested on animals. Nothing that Freyja would not recognise as medicine.

III — Guiding principles
Every plant in Moder Jord is native to or naturalised in the Nordic soil. What grows around us knows the climate our skin lives in. Nothing shipped from continents away.
Cold-pressed carriers. Long infusions. Waxing-moon whipping. Nothing shortcut with synthetic emulsifiers or preservatives. The medicine takes as long as it takes.
Each formulation traces back to a documented Sámi, Karelian or Norse folk-medicine practice. Old knowledge given new form, not fabricated wellness copy.
Made by hand in Berlin from herbs foraged in Sweden across the growing season. When the batch is gone, we wait for the next harvest. No industrial continuity.
Skin is not gendered and neither is care. But this line is rooted in the feminine lineage of plant knowledge — the women who kept the receipts, the recipes, and the reverence.
Foraging is done at sustainable ratios only. Never from vulnerable populations. What we take, we take carefully — and we plant back where the practice permits.
